Review: ARISE By: Tara Hudson

Arise (Hereafter #2)Arise by Tara Hudson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Amelia Ashley and Joshua Mayhew's love story from Hereafter continues in Arise. With the netherworld looking for Amelia, demons having been set forth to claim her, and bring her into their sect - With her father trapped and warnings from Eli -Amelia now finds herself at a crossroad of doing what is best for everyone involved. Run, she has been told, for the demons will go to extreme lengths including devouring all she loves.

On a trip with Josh to visit the rest of the Mayhew clan to New Orleans at Christmastime, Amelia has an adventure and fight that no one could have seen coming. The Mayhews have gathered and the Seers that they are now under the direction of Alex Etienne. A Christmas present from Josh brings "life" to Amelia after a "risen" voodoo priestess Gabrielle preforms a ceremony. Enter the chase between good and evil and twists and turns that leave you on edge.

Ms. Hudson has taken what I thought would have been a hard thing to write and effortlessly written excellent plot and main/secondary characters that interweave a great book. I am looking forward to reading the next one.
