It's 1962 in Naples, FL - The people all know one another, from their secrets, their achievements, and their faults, but that all changes. The events are seen through the narrator looking back to that one summer.
Enter a new family in this tight knit town and new ideas begin. Jackie Hart has come with her husband and children to this tiny town and brought some flourish. The Women's Literary Society is born and within those members a deep understanding of love, friendship, truth, and possibilities occur. At first glance they appear as misfits looking for a way to fit in, including Dora (the narrator) - a divorced woman who works at the post office.
As time goes on they learn more about each other, uncovering some deep secrets that no one else would know... enter a new voice on the evening radio, Miss Dreamsville. The town has gone crazy over the speculation of who she could be, townspeople taking bets.. as Miss Dreamsville enters the scene so do the KKK and the unraveling of secrets and the possibilities of dreams coming true.
What an amazing feel good book, filled with great characters that fill the pages. You will find it irresistible to put this book down. Although it is an easy, quick read, the story and the people will stay with you long after you have finished. I can't wait for another story from Ms. Hearth.

Review: the boyfriend of the month club By: Maria Geraci

A great beach/spring vacation read - quick, fluff, and well written. Throw in humor, a fresh voice, and although the situations are predictable you will get lost in the pages.
So it all begins with a horrible first date and Grace O'Bryan has had enough. A brilliant idea of rating the men in Daytona Beach with her friends has turned their book club into a boyfriend club. The club though needs some spice, so they compare the men to those of literary greats (think Mr Darcy). It isn't long before the club grows in numbers and is outed in the community.

Review: Frankly, My Dear By: Sandra Hill

I must confess I am a huge Gone With The Wind fan and with a cover and title like Frankly, My Dear - I had no self control, it became a must read. Wait, what was that I just read, time travel too - well, bless me, I felt as though I developed the vapors for the moment.
Selene is a model who has made an enemy of another one, one who has voodoo powers. In a shoot taking place in New Orleans with a vintage style gown, she finds herself spun into the past. At that moment she has been placed before the real life Rhett of her dreams, James Baptiste.
There is mystery, conspiracy, wit, and a wonderful love story within these pages.
*** SPOILER***Selene is left with a choice to return to the future and when James' "dead" wife returns from the dead, she might not have any other choice but to leave behind the love of many lifetimes.
Wonderful secondary characters and character development, a great storyline and memorable characters that leave one sighing and looking for their own time machine. A great read giving you a reason for a moment to believe.

Review: City Of Bones Book 1 of The Mortal Instruments By: Cassandra Clare

Clary Fray is going to be introduced to a world that mixes and mingles with the rest of us. A world filled with the Nephilim, angels, demons, werewolves, and vampires - with sorcerers and pixies. It takes only a moment to see people that no one else does, to watch the destruction of another being that no one else seems to see or acknowledge that begins her path. As this "new" world is unlocked, her mother is kidnapped, a cup that is the "holy grail" of the shadowhunters must be located, and a man that many thought was destroyed has risen with an army - as the story progresses so does the mystery and the depth of secrets unveiled.
Oh, how I wanted to love this book, I was excited to begin it and then - nothing. A good storyline, somewhat predictable, the characters are ok but not enough for you to continue the series and feel for them (I think the best character was a minor secondary that appeared, disappeared, and reappeared many pages in between - Magnus Bane). Maybe the series gets better, afterall there are so many people that recommend this, but I think there are other books I want to get to before getting to them.

Review: Sever By: Lauren Destefano

In fairness I think 3 1/2 stars would be more accurate.
The final installment of The Chemical Garden trilogy is here. Rhine is in a battle with Housemaster Vaughn that leads to terrible and shocking discoveries along the way. Under his control once again the story begins and with help from her sister wife Cecily, Linden is no longer in the dark about his father or the evil that he can and does do. Rhine is desperation to find Gabriel, the one she left behind, and her brother Rowan.
Through circumstances Rhine finds where her brother is and what he has been up to, also the fact that he believes her to be dead. With unlikely help she goes off and finds him, but she also finds a world filled with secrets that once uncovered can not be ignored.
I was surprised at where the author took us in this book, at times finding myself bored and listless to excited - a roller coaster of sorts - up and down and up and down. I was disappointed in the way it ended feeling somewhat cheated for a generic ending.
For answers and to finish off the trilogy this book is a must (although it will lead to even more questions that can not be answered).
